Sugar Lab re-launch begins today!
The Sugar Lab relaunch is finally here! Over the coming weeks we’ll release a series of limited edition 3D printed food collections to celebrate. And by the late fall most of our catalogue will be available here on our website.
We are really proud of this milestone because we are the first bakery to design and make 3D printed food directly for customers. At Sugar Lab, we’re committed to designing and printing delicious, unique, stylish confections that are not available anywhere else--so you can share them with your people. Grab a set and celebrate something small.
The Sugar Lab journey has been nearly a decade in the making. It all started back in 2011 when Liz and Kyle von Hasseln were grad students. They started using their 3D printer which was supposed to build architectural models to print in sugar instead. It worked so well that they quickly founded a company and 3D printed ornate sugar sculptures for pastry chefs in Los Angeles. You might have seen their prints featured by TechCrunch, FastCompany and NY Times.
We are celebrating our relaunch by re-releasing one of our very first designs. These beautiful, bold geometric shapes were fan favorites when we started and all these years later they still look better than almost any other 3D printed food. Use these plain sugar cubes to sweeten coffee, tea, or something stronger. #MakeAMoment
