If this is your first time in K-town, don’t worry, we thought of everything and this is going to be fun. If you’re a local here, we hope you see something special in this love letter, xoxo. Taking a look at the menu tonight we have adorable kimchi bouillon ready to spice up an entrée, fruity patbingsu toppers for dessert, and colorful hangwas featuring yuzu, banana milk and red bean that pair nicely with a barley tea service. And to drink, we have more than one cocktail lined up in case you’re warming up for karaoke.

Plenty of people visit K-town for the incredible food and eating experiences, but its legacy is far deeper--generations of artists, thinkers, and cultural producers were shaped in and by Ktown, and they now shape Los Angeles, and the country.

The arts non-profit organization GYOPO has the mission to share this legacy by highlighting diasporic Koreans who engage in the visual arts, film, literature, critical discourse, as well as activism. Since 2017, GYOPO’s free public programs have facilitated conversations on critical, intersectional, and intergenerational issues, and in 2020, examined some of the social conditions that led to the increased violence against AAPI.
